I seem to have this problem a lot with Firefox -- the message is something like "Connection was reset by server" or something like that.... I thought it might be something with my setup at home, but it's been happening at work too -- only on Firefox.
Anybody know what might be causing this and how I can fix it?
Thanks!

Re: Connection was Reset
Thu, February 15, 2007 - 11:56 AMThis has been happening a lot to me since the beginning of the year. It seems that my internet connection is disturbed, since my chat programs (like MSN, Skype and Yahoo IM) close as well.
A friend of mine suggested I first 'disable' and then 'enable' my internet connection. That usually solves the problem and normal internet (firefox, chat programs) resumes without me having to reboot the computer. He also said that if this works, then there is probably some software on my computer causing the problem.
I have an excellent antivirus program (Trend Micro PC-cillin) and regularly use ad-aware, spybot and spywareblaster as well as disk cleanup and defrag when necessary.
I even went through all my programs and found two that AOL had downloaded (on using AIM) without me realizing it. I removed these programs but several times a day (my pc stays on about 16 hours a day when I am home) I will lose my internet connection.
Anybody else have any ideas? -
